My first swarm
thankfully I had a call to go and collect a swarm of bees, by the look of it, it was what we call a prime swarm, meaning the queen within it would be last years and therefore already mated, queens only mate once in their lifetime, so mated queens means the colony can start producing and growing sooner than an unmated queen
with the bees settled in their new hive, I gave them a feed of sugar syrup, this helps them to build new comb in the hive, which then get's used by the queen to lay eggs into, they also store food, pollen and honey in the comb too
please excuse the muffled commentary, I've since added an external microphone to the gopro, also adjusted the angle of camera so you don't just see feet shots
