hive manipulation
so my first inspection of the year, and I knew I wanted to do, some might think quite radical hive manipulatioons.
Firstly the langstroth hive, I want this out of the apiary, Ive never been a big fan of these hives, only having got them because of the flow hives, but as I sold those last year, this one needs going, but it has a good colony in it, so my plan is to add a national box, and hope the fill it, I'll remove the queen excluder if they pull wax out, allow her to lay in it, then remove it along with the queen to become a new hive, once all the brood has hatched from the langstroth, that can be removed and sold,
secondly, the national I knew the colony was much smaller, and they were not using the bottom newly waxed brood box, so this needed addressing,
